DEPARTMENT NAME: Water and Sewer Field Operations (aka "Pumps")
DEPARTMENT OBJECTIVE: "Taking pride in protecting public health through silent service in an ever changing environment."

Current Projects - Pumps is commissioning the Arrowhead Well No. 3 MTBE treatment plant. The plant will completely remove low levels of MTBE. It should be operational in May 2002. It will be operated under permit with the California State Department of Health Services.
Past Projects - Because the water system was originally 4 private water system, the District is constantly modernizing the water system. Every year new water tanks, pump stations, and water mains are replaced.
Department Responsibility - The Pumps Department operates and maintains 28 drinking water wells, 16 drinking water booster stations, 25 pressure reducing stations, 22 water storage tanks, and 36 sewage pump stations. The entire water system is very complicated and is divided into 15 pressure zones.
